May Erlewine Trio

8pm (Doors 7.30)

May Erlewine made a big impression when she played UK festival dates with her side project, The Sweet Water Warblers, in 2017. Now, she tours in her own right, with two of her renowned backing band to perform in the trio format that has been on the road in the USA.

When she released her stunning solo album Mother Lion, in 2018, the UK finally sat up and took notice. Yet, she’s no newcomer – far from it, having an extensive back catalogue (nineteen albums spanning several different projects). Reviewers swooned as they wrote about the new record. At Folk Radio UK, Mike Davies said: “She’s looking to tour the UK with her own band which will no doubt serve to widen her fan base here. You really should set up an alert for those dates now.”At AmericanaUK,  Michael Farley labelled it “superb - a coming of age” release. Country Music People said she was “a huge musical talent,” RnR magazine told readers the album was “enchanting” and Country Music magazine called it “mesmerising.”
