Get creative and have a go at a wide range of art techniques. You’ll be guided by experienced artists, develop new skills, and learn new ways of thinking to inspire your creative process. Our workshops are relaxed and informal, perfect solo, with friends, or as a gift.

Immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of our cafe’s beautiful courtyard as we invite you to experience the soothing art of Tai Chi. Our classes offer a unique opportunity to connect with your mind, body, and spirit while enjoying the fresh air and natural surroundings.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art characterized by slow, graceful movements and deep, focused breathing. Often described as “meditation in motion,” it promotes relaxation, balance, and harmony, making it an ideal practice for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Learn the Japanese art of Kokedama and create your own hanging Japanese garden. Kokedama translates to ‘Moss Ball’ and can be hung indoors to brighten up your space. You’ll learn the history of the Japanese art form, what plants to use, and the correct soil mixture, as well as caring for your Kokedama.

Includes moss and plants to make two Kokedama.

Lino printing is an easy and effective method for creating multiple prints of your own unique design. In this session, you will learn how to cut your own lino printing block and use it to produce cards, wrapping paper, or pictures.

Learn how to use your own sewing machine in this short personalized course. Alison will guide you through setting up your machine, how to thread, using your machine features, and mastering simple sewing techniques. Handouts provided.

Join our hands-on workshop and learn how to create a miniature botanical ecosystem enclosed in a glass terrarium then plant your terrarium to take home. A standard terrarium jar (7L) is provided but you can also purchase a larger jar from our shop.

Go full-out Christmas with this two and a half-hour workshop. Create your own fused glass candle shade as well as a hanging Christmas tree decoration. Perfect for gifts or will you keep them for yourself?!

Don’t worry if you’re new to glass fusing – Sue will provide all the tools and materials you need to get Christmassy, and as no glass cutting is required, this experience is perfect for beginners.

Your glass creations will be fired in the kiln before being returned to Kitchen Garden for you to collect.

Join artist Daniel Lopez for a fun journey through watercolour & wet pigment techniques. In our monthly club you will learn how to use watercolours to create beautiful paintings whilst enjoying a glass of wine. No experience necessary. A great way to socialise with friends!

    The planned workshops at Kitchen Garden Cafe will take you through the creative process from idea to completed book, focussing on comics and graphic novels. Noel will show you how to take a post-it note idea, develop a story, write a script, select and work with artists (including pencillers, inkers, colourists and letterers), graphic design, digital production, print preparation and methods of printing, distribution, funding and marketing. The taster session will dip into each of these areas and the 6 week course will examine each area in depth.
